The CeMCOR Team is urgently seeking the research collaboration of a Metro Vancouver student (registered at any level of training in BC) to work with us on a grant.
CeMCOR is applying to the Michael Smith Foundation and BC Support Unit for Patient-Oriented Research to study the feasibility of recruitment of local women living with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS meaning androgen excess and irregular or far apart periods) to an innovative PCOS therapy. We are proposing, in a different application, to do a 6-month open-label observational study of cyclic progesterone (to “replace” the missing progesterone in a two weeks on and two weeks off way) and spironolactone (an androgen blocking medicine that is safe and effective for unwanted facial hair).
